Tour Features and Conditions

Please read all Tour Features and Conditions carefully. Payment of tour deposit constitutes acceptance of these conditions.

Tour Cost: Please refer to main page for costs.

Air Transportation: By scheduled airlines, economy class. Surface Transportation: By charter motorcoach from Souderton to the airport and return. By special motorcoach, railway car, and other surface transportation in Alaska and Yukon Territory with Holland America Westours Guide.

Hotels: First class hotels or best available, based on two persons sharing a room with private bath or shower. Single rooms at hotels and on the cruise ship may be requested at a supplemental charge; inquire for rates.

Cruise Ship Accommodations:
On the Holland America Line’s ms Ryndam. Please see main page for various accommodation possibilities.

Meals: On the ms Ryndam—all meals are included beginning with dinner on June 28 and ending with breakfast on July 2. A lunch on the McKinley Explorer on June 21 and a snack lunch on the tundra tour in Denali on June 22, and Miner’s Lunch on June 24, is included. Other meals are included as indicated in the itinerary. B=Breakfast, L=Lunch and D=Dinner.

Sightseeing: Per itinerary, with Holland America Westours guide throughout.

Baggage: Tour passengers are limited to one piece of checked baggage, plus one overnight case or flight bag which must remain in the care of its owner at all times.

Tips and Taxes: All basic tips for included services are included in the tour price. Tips to driver/guides are included. All taxes are included. Port charges (presently $470 per person) are included. Shore Excursions: These will be offered from the ship as an option at a small additional cost. They can be purchased on board ship.

Passport Information: United States citizens are now required to have passports for air travel when re-entering the United States. If you do not have a passport, you should apply for one immediately. Information on obtaining a passport will be provided upon receipt of deposit. If you now have a passport, please verify that it is valid until December 19, 2008.

Not Included: Meals not specifically indicated, laundry, beverages with lunch or dinner, trip interruption insurance, tours indicated as optional or sight seeing not mentioned, tips to shipboard personnel, and any other items of a per son al nature.

Deposit and Payment: A deposit of $600 per person is required to secure a reservation for your tour. Final payment is due by March 25, 2008.

Protect your investment: If you purchase the protection plan upon enrollment with your deposit, any restriction on pre-existing conditions is waived. If protection plan is purchased after the deposit is received, all coverage is subject to exclusion of preexisting conditions. Trip cancellation and interruption protection is made available to tour members at a cost of $360 per person. You will receive a detailed description of the protection plan, which you will have ten days to review. Certain conditions, exclusions and limitations apply as set out in the Evidence of Coverage and Confirmation of Coverage. Following is a brief description:
  • This protection plan will cover you for cancellation fees if you need to cancel be cause of death, injury or illness to you, your traveling companion or your immediate family member.
  • Trip Interruption or Delay
  • Medical Evacuation
  • Medical Expenses
  • Lost, stolen or damaged baggage

    Cancellation and Refund Policy: A full refund (except for pre purchased insurance) will be made for written cancellations received no later than March 25, 2008. Passengers who cancel after that date for any reason, including medical reasons, are subject to the following cancellation fees:
  • March 25–April 21: $600 per person
  • April 22–May 19: 50% of gross fare per person
  • May 20–June 2: 75% of gross fare per person
  • June 3: 100% of gross fare

    Given that the resale of cancelled space will likely result in a lost opportunity to sell other space, these fees are due regardless of resale. Fees incurred as a result of cancellation cannot be applied to future bookings.

    Name changes require the prior approval of Holland America, and may not always be possible. Cruise contracts are nontransferrable. Name changes and departure date changes are considered reservation cancellations and are subject to cancellation fees.

Prices shown are based on many factors, and in the event of an increase in any cost factor, the right is reserved to increase the prices at any time up to the date of departure. All fares are per person double occupancy (unless otherwise noted) and are quoted in US currency.
