TOUR PRICE:

$5,390 per person based on two persons sharing accommodations, port charges and taxes included. The tour price is based on Category MM accommodations, an inside cabin located on the A Deck with two beds on the floor. All rooms have private bathtub, shower and toilet, television, telephone and multichannel music. Two lower beds convertible to one queen size bed. Up graded accommodations are available, at the supplemental charges indicated below. Outside rooms have at least one window.

    ITINERARY:
    Thursday, June 19   ANCHORAGE

    Leave from Souderton by charter motor coach to the airport in the morning. Full of anticipation of the adventures ahead; fly to Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. Stroll about town, and enjoy the long hours of daylight.

    Friday, June 20   ANCHORAGE

    After breakfast we will travel the Seward Highway to Portage Lake. Enjoy our stop at Begich Boggs visitor Center to browse the fascinating glaciology exhibits before boarding the mv Ptarmigan for a one-hour lake cruise to Portage Glacier. Cruise to the face of the glacier that creates the lake and all those icebergs floating in it. This evening in Anchorage we will enjoy a wonderful family style dinner at Sourdough Mining Company. A truly unique attraction including a gift shop, Alaska Wild Berry products where you can watch candies, jams, and jellies being made from a viewing window. Experience the world’s largest chocolate waterfall, over 20 feet of cascading chocolate. Overnight in Anchorage. (B, D)

    Saturday, June 21   ANCHORAGE/DENALI NATIONAL PARK

    This morning board the McKinley Explorer, a special train operating from Anchorage on the historic Alaska Railroad route, an Alaskan Scenic Byway. Enjoy the luxury of a private car with full-length glass domes to watch the scenery on the way to Denali Park. At the park you will have the remainder of the day to enjoy this rare wilderness. Spend the night at Denali National Park. (B, L, D)

    Sunday, June 22   DENALI NATIONAL PARK

    Your extra day at Denali national Park begins with an early morning departure for the Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour. Enjoy 6–8 hours of narrated touring with a driverguide as you travel 53 miles of the Park Road for great wildlife viewing. Caribou, moose, grizzly, wolves and Dall sheep are frequently sighted. And dramatic Mt. McKinley viewpoints are afforded from several lookouts including Stony Hill Overlook. Later, return to your lodge to relax or take your choice of optional activities, such as a Wilderness Jetboat Safari, Mt. McKinley Flightseeing Tour, or whitewater rafting. This evening we will enjoy the rollicking Denali Cabin Nite dinner show. (B, L, D)

    Monday, June 23   DENALI/FAIRBANKS

    Relax over breakfast and browse the wildlife exhibits and souvenirs at the Gift Shop. Later, reboard the McKinley Explorer, en route to Fairbanks. Then check into your downtown hotel and enjoy a relaxing night in Alaska’s second largest city. (B, D)

    Tuesday, June 24   FAIRBANKS

    Stay in Fairbanks, the hub of Alaska’s interior. See the Trans- Alaska Pipeline as well as a tour to Gold Dredge No. 8 where you can pan for gold. Also enjoy a cruise on an authentic stern wheel paddle boat, with lively narration of the riverside sights. (B, L, D)

    Wednesday, June 25   FAIRBANKS/BEAVER CREEK

    This morning board your luxury motorcoach, traveling the Alaska Highway. A stop at Delta Junction to view the TransAlaska Pipeline where it crosses the Tanana River, and a pause at Rika’s Roadhouse along the original wagon road echoes the past. Distant mountains and expansive vistas frame the road. Cross the border from Alaska into Yukon Territory, Canada. Just across the border, you’ll arrive at Beaver Creek, Canada’s western most settlement. A special Yukon dinner show is included this evening. (B, D)

    Thursday, June 26   BEAVER CREEK/WHITEHORSE

    Enjoy the day in Yukon Territory, Royal Canadian Mounted Police country, Your destination today is Whitehorse, capital of Canada’s Yukon region, but in the late 1800’s crucial stopover point for miners heading to the gold fields of the Klondike. Some of the tallest mountains in North America loom ahead as you continue along the highway, passing scenic Lake Kluane and views of the St. Elias and Kluane mountains. (B, D)

    Friday, June 27   KLUANE NATIONAL PARK

    A Parks Canada Interpreter will board your motorcoach in Whitehorse to kick off your Kluane National Park adventure. This Unesco World Heritage Site encompasses the second tallest mountain in North America, Mt. Logan and numerous other peaks. Upon arrival at the Park you’ll craft your own experience from an array of full-day activities. You can flightsee, hike or raft the famed Tatshenshini River. Return to Whitehorse for the night. Tonight the Frantic Follies Vaudeville Revue at our hotel will bring the gold rush hilariously to life. (B, D)

    Saturday, June 28   WHITEHORSE/SKAGWAY

    This morning we will stop at the only sand desert in Alaska and the beautiful Emerald Lake on our way to Carcross for an ice cream stop. You will also have the opportunity to get your passport stamped. Then we will travel to Fraser to board the old-time White Pass and Yukon Railway, a narrow-gauge train built in 1898, through the rugged St. Elias Mountains from Whitehorse to the Klondike gold fields in Skagway. Travel over the mountains, as you wonder how the stampeders ever made it in 1898. Cross from the Yukon Territory into the Canadian province of British Columbia, then to the town of Skagway, Alaska, one of the best preserved Gold rush towns. This afternoon we will board our luxurious cruise ship, the ms Ryndam to begin a four-day cruise through Alaskan and Canadian waters. (B, D)

    Sunday, June 29   GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK

    Cruise by Reid and Lamplugh glaciers to the mighty Johns Hopkins— surrounded by rugged peaks and sheltering a seal pupping ground. Linger for a full hour at Grand Pacific and Margerie glaciers for the grandest spectacle of them all. Margerie is an Ice Age giant a mile wide and 25 stories high. Marvel at nature’s unrelenting power as you witness the birth of one massive iceberg after another. (B, L, D)

    Monday, June 30   KETCHIKAN

    Ketchikan is the salmon capital of the world. This picturesque port has a water front built on stilts. Walk to historic Creek Street or the Tongas Historical Monument. Learn about Alaska’s rich native history at the Bight State Park and Saxman Village. View restored totem poles and watch native carvers work. (B, L, D)

    Tuesday, July 1   INSIDE PASSAGE CRUISING

    Today relax and enjoy the cruising life, while the match less scenery of the Inside Passage glides by. Enjoy the last evening on board your cruise ship. (B, L, D)

    Wednesday, July 2   VANCOUVER

    The ms Ryndam arrives this morning in one of the world’s most beautiful harbors, Vancouver. Board a flight for your return home where a special charter motorcoach will return you to the Senior Adult Activity Center in Souderton. (B) (B)


    Holland America Line ships are known for their large cabins, cleanliness, attractive decor, comfort, and of course the good food and service.
    Facilities: beauty salon, duty-free boutiques, health spa, library, medical center, laundry/dry cleaning service, sauna, whirlpool, 2 outside pools (one with sliding glass roof), telephones, theater, tour office, casino, elevators.
