Sunday, August 23 Seattle
Depart this morning for
our flight to Seattle, Washington.
Upon arrival we will
met and transferred to our
awaiting luxurious ship, the
Star Princess. Sail at 4 pm.
Monday, August 24 At Sea – Cruising the Inside Passage
Enjoy a full day to explore
the Star Princess, our luxurious
floating resort. Enjoy the
endless activities of shipboard
life.
Tuesday, August 25 Ketchikan
Arrive at 6:30 am. Ketchikan
is the ancestral home of
Alaska’s Tlingit Indians, this
rustic waterfront village along
the Tongass Narrows has the
world’s largest collection of
totem poles. You can see this
ancient art form and learn the
meaning behind totem pole
imagery at the Saxman Native
Village. Other main attractions
are Creek Street, Tongass
Historical Museum and Totem
Bight State Park. You may
also opt for a floatplane flightseeing Misty Fjords National Monument. There are numerous
shops and galleries with native art as well as souvenir
shops with locally canned and smoked salmon. Sail at
4:30 pm.
Wednesday, August 26 Cruising Tracy Arm Fjord – Juneau
One of Alaska’s
most dramatic
sights is Tracy Arm
Fjord. All around,
smooth granite cliffs
rise straight from
the sea and waterfalls
drop thousands
feet into the
shimmering tidewater.

Arm Fjord bound for the twin Sawyer Glaciers at the fjord’s
head. Watch for icebergs calving into the sea in a spectacle
of thunder and flying spray. Enjoy the National Park
Service Ranger who is onboard to interpret the sights and
sounds you are seeing from 6:00 am – 10 am. We arrive
in Juneau at 2 pm. Nestled between mountains and sea,
Alaska’s capital city has a rustic charm that’s a blend of
cosmopolitan and frontier styles. Explore the lush Tongass
National Forest. History buffs can browse the Alaska State
Museum which includes a Native clan house, a birch-bark
canoe and more.
Gold rush fans can
tour the Last Chance
Mining Museum.
Visit the shops in
town with colorful
curio shops and art
galleries, or get out
and kayak, dogsled,
whale watch or fi sh.
There’s no end to the the long daylight hours. Sail at 10 pm.
Thursday, August 27 Skagway
Arrive in Skagway
at 6 am. This Klondike
Gold Rush National
Historic Park boasts
restored buildings,
wooden boardwalks
and the famed White
Pass & Yukon Route
Railroad. Browse the
rustic shops along
Broadway Street, or investigate the Trail of ’98 Museum.
Enjoy an epic journey aboard the White Pass & Yukon
Route Railroad. Built in 1898, this International Civil
Engineering Landmark carries you through terrain climbing
nearly 3,000 feet and negotiating cliff-hanging turns,
tunnels and trestles. This trip is a truly remarkable way to
experience one of the most dramatic episodes of the gold
rush era. Your train parallels the treacherous Trail of 98, a
route followed under extreme conditions by over 30,000
hopeful stampeders. Sail at 5 pm.
Friday, August 28 Cruising the Inside Passage
Sadly enough,
this is your last sea
day aboard the
Star Princess. Savor
the sights and
sound of the sea.
Saturday, August 29 Victoria, B.C. Canada
Arrive in Victoria
at 5 pm. Visit the
famous Butchart
Gardens. These
gardens are rated
among the most
beautiful in the world.
See the Sunken
Garden, the Japanese
and Italian
gardens, English Rose Garden, and the magnificent Rose
Fountain. Sail at midnight.
Sunday, August 30 Seattle – Home
We will dock in Seattle at 7 am. After breakfast we
will broad our waiting motorcoach which will take us to the
airport for our return home.
