ITINERARY
Day 1
Tour participants arrive independently in Washington, D.C. and use courtesy transportation
for transfer to Sheraton Hotel, in Alexandria (Old Town), Virginia. Dinner included.
Day 2
This morning we step back in time as a professional local guide takes us on a walking tour of historic
Old Town Alexandria. Later we will visit Mt. Vernon, the beloved home of our first President George
Washington. This plantation along the Potomac River was the home of George Washington from 1754 until his
death in 1799. We also visit Arlington National Cemetery to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier, and the nearby gravesite of President Kennedy. Our day will conclude with a dinner cruise
on the Potomac River. (All meals are included)
Day 3
We have a full day of sightseeing in Washington, D.C. with a local guide. Our tour will include, the
White House Visitors Center, the Capitol building, the Library of Congress, Embassy Row, and many of the
historic and cultural sites associated with our nation’s capital. (Breakfast and dinner included)

Day 4
Today we have free time to enjoy at leisure a full day at the museums of the Smithsonian Institute.

Day 5
This morning we will be treated to a visit to the World Headquarters of the Seventh Day Adventist
Church. located in Silver Spring, MD. While there, we will tour the Ellen G. White Estate and its vault, including
the opportunity to view “The Christ of the Narrow Way,” an inspiring mural based on the first vision of
Ellen G. White.
In Hagerstown, MD, where we will tour the Review and Hearld Publishing Association’s printing facility.
From there we drive to Gettysburg, PA for overnight lodging. (All meals are included)
Day 6
A tour of Gettysburg National Military Park with a National Park interpreter will take us
back in time to those three days in July of 1863 where the bloodiest battle of America’s Civil War took place.
Later we drive to Lancaster County, known for the unusual life-style of the Pennsylvania Amish people.
The next five nights will be in the Pennsylvania Dutch region. (All meals are included)
Day 7 - Friday, June 24:
The beautiful farms of the Pennsylvania Amish and Mennonite people will be a highlight of our day.
Our local guide will offer knowledgeable interpretation of the life-style and culture of these people and their
Anabaptist heritage. A special feature of our day will be a live biblical drama, on stage at the Millennium
Theatre at Sight and Sound. (All meals are included)
Day 8
Today we will explore some of the historic treasures of the city of Philadelphia.
Our first stop will be worship services at Ebenezer Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Our Philadelphia visit will include many of the historic attractions along America’s
most historic square mile, Independence National park. (All meals are included)
Day 9 - Sunday, June 26:
We have an early morning ride to New York City for a day of sightseeing in “the Big Apple.” Our
tour will feature a three-hour Circle Line cruise around New York’s island of Manhattan.

Day 10
The cultural and historic attractions of Lancaster County will be featured today. We visit Wheatland,
home of our 15th President, James Buchanan, the Ephrata Cloister, the Mennonite Material
Aid center and Ten Thousand Villages fairtrade store. We will also have free time for shopping
and browsing. (All meals are included)
Day 11
Motorcoach transfer from our hotel to Harrisburg International Airport
