ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrive in Southern California
Upon arriving in Southern California we will be taken directly
to our area hotel for check-in. Then we proceed to Loma
Linda University, a world-renown Adventist University, for
campus tour with a student docent. (Dinner included)
Day 2 Mammoth Lakes
Today we drive north along the eastern ridge of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains.
We travel through the village of Lone Pine, where many American Western movies of the 1950’s
were filmed. We travel to Mammoth Lakes in the heart of the
Sierra National Forest. Our overnight lodging will be in
Mammoth Lakes. (Breakfast and dinner included)
Day 3 Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite National Park
Our morning drive across Tioga Pass is truly spectacular
and certainly one of the most scenic drives on the North
American Continent. Yosemite National Park, with its
myriad lakes, vast meadows, ice-sculptured domes, lush
forests, and dramatically cascading waterfalls presents
unspoiled alpine scenery in abundance. This will certainly
be a highlight of this California tour. (Breakfast, lunch and
dinner included)
Day 4 Yosemite National Park
Today we travel into beautiful Yosemite National Park for a full day of sightseeing and
some free time to explore on our own. Yosemite has innumerable lakes, meadows, ice-sculptured domes,
forests, waterfalls and unspoiled alpine scenery. We will visit Inspiration Point for a
breathtaking view of Yosemite. The splendor of Yosemite National Park will be for us to
enjoy. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Day 5 Yosemite to Sacramento
Our drive today will take us through the California “Mother
Lode” region. It was in this region of Central California where
gold was discovered in 1849. Historic villages such as
Jamestown, Angles Camp, San Andreas, Jackson, all have
a history in the gold period of California and western United
States. We overnight in Sacramento, capital city of California.

Day 6 Sacramento (Napa Valley) San Francisco
Following breakfast we leave Sacramento, driving into the
lush gentle slopes of Sonoma and the Napa Valley with their
elegant and charming wineries. This afternoon we visit the
beautiful Sonoma Valley including a stop at the Sonoma
Mission, the last of the 21 missions established by Father
Junipero Serra along the El Camino Real. We then drive
across the famous Golden Gate Bridge into the romantic
“city by the bay”, San Francisco. Lodging for the next four
nights will be in San Francisco. (Breakfast and dinner
included)
Day 7 San Francisco
This morning we will participate in Sabbath services at an
SDA church. Following lunch a local guide will join us for
touring in San Francisco. We will visit Chinatown stopping
at a fortune cookie factory, a tea shop which offers tea
tasting, and we will; take a short walking tour to see a
typical Chinese market, with some free shopping time. A
tasty Chinese dinner will be included tonight. (Breakfast,
lunch and dinner included)
Day 8 San Francisco to Monterey to San Francisco
After breakfast a highlight today will be driving south along
scenic highway #1 to Monterey and Carmel. We will drive along the
spectacular Monterey peninsula with a view of famous Pebble Beach golf course and the
Lone Cypress tree. Our touring day takes us to the resort town of Carmel, a popular haven for writers, artists,
and celebrities. Dinner is included at Monterey’s famous
Fisherman’s Wharf. We then return to San Francisco.

Day 9 Full day in San Francisco
A local guide will meet us this morning and guide us on a delightful tour of
one of the world’s more beautiful cities. San Francisco is famous of itsnatural harbor,
lush parks, cable cars, and bustling docks. This tour will
include: Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, Financial District,
Embarcadero, Nob Hill, a picture stop for a view of the city.
We will board a cable car for a ride on the California line
from Fisherman’s Wharf to Market Street. Later we enjoy a
cruise on San Francisco Bay. There will be time for independent
shopping around Union Square, or Fisherman’s Wharf.
This evening we will have dinner overlooking the San Francisco
Bay. (Breakfast, Dinner included)
Day 10 Departure
Breakfast included at our hotel. We then gather our personal
belongings and make our way to the San Francisco Airport
for individual scheduled departures.
