Fall
Falling Into Travel
Leaves Summer officially ended September 21. How can that be?! Didn't the kids just get out of school? Has this summer's long anticipated vacation really come and gone? Seems like we eagerly anticipate the summer season every year; and every year summer speeds past.

Fall cleaning is almost as popular as Spring cleaning-getting ready for long evenings indoors and the beginning of the holidays. This edition of MTS TRAVEL's ENews is a "housekeeping" issue. We will bring you up-to-date on the many changes that have occurred with airlines, showcase great fall fares, advise you on booking fall travel, and generally help get your "travel" house in order.

MTS TRAVEL is a resource and a partner in navigating the often confusing realm of today's travel. Have questions? Need advice? Contact your MTS TRAVEL consultant-new to MTS TRAVEL?-our expert travel consultants are waiting to help at service@mtstravel.com or 877 908-8899.
How Heavy?

Packing Luggage allowances and restrictions seem to change hourly. Knowing how much you can pack is a constant challenge. Since late July, many airlines have reduced free checked  luggage allowances for international travel and introduced new fees for additional checked bags. MTS TRAVEL wants you to have access to the most up-to-date and accurate baggage information. What better source than the "horse's mouth!" Going to www.mtstravel.com and clicking "Checked Baggage" on the left navigation bar takes you directly to the chosen airline's luggage information area. No hunting; no guessing. Take a look! Still have questions? Contact an expert MTS TRAVEL consultant; either your regular agent or service@mtstravel.com.
Beating the Flu

Prescription

With the H1N1 virus in the news daily, and the prospect that the virus may intensify in the coming weeks, purchasing insurance becomes an even better idea. Trip cancellation insurance will provide coverage should you be quarantined by a physician or government official for exposure to any illness. Don't risk those hard earned travel dollars; ask your MTS TRAVEL consultant about purchasing insurance.

The Changing Landscape
Fall Landscape

Along with the changes to baggage regulations, other "rearranging" is constant in the airline business.

  • Continental Airlines will join the Star Alliance in October. OnePass members will then have the advantage of redemption on 24 airlines
  • United Airlines has eliminated their last minute booking fee for MileagePlus award tickets
  • Delta Airlines is introducing Diamond Medallion status-a fourth Medallion level for Delta frequent flyers
  • USAir will offer in-flight Wi-Fi in early 2010
