This is your invitation to the first International Choir Festival in Oberammergau, Germany.
A brand new choir festival will take place in Oberammergau, home of the world famous Passion Play, May 29 – June 3,
2007. The festival is an adjudicated event with representation from the U.S. and Germany. This event will happen every two
years, not to conflict with the world famous Passion Play which is performed every 10 year.
Who has not heard of Oberammergau, the word-famous village in the Bavarian Alps? The name is at least familiar to
most people. Oberammergau became world famous because of the passion plays performed in the village every ten years.
The next season of performances is in 2010. More than 2,000 Oberammergau villagers will take part in the passion play,
fulfilling the solemn promise of their forefathers to perform a play depicting the passion of Christ.
The stage of the Passion Theatre does not stand vacant between the 10 year span of the play, but it is guarded in the use
and type of approved performances. This new choir festival is the first event of its kind to be approved by the local parliament
and Lord Mayor. The grand finale of the festival will be a concert on the stage of the Passion Theatre with all participating
festival choirs and the Passion Play Choir, under the direction of their Choir Master. You will certainly want your choir to
be a part!
This letter is reaching you well in advance of the choir festival because we realize that an international choir tour takes
time to promote within your choir. Fund raising is also a major part of this type of event. Contact us for ideas on how to get
started with your fund raising efforts. We are also happy to share a list of companies that offer products for fund raising sales
upon request. We are here to help you in any way we can.

event and are welcoming the choirs to their communities for Friendship concerts. You can sing in the town squares, churches
or cathedrals. The majority of choirs will also want to travel for education or ministry, and we are offering a number of tours
