OBERAMMERGAU INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL

Non-refundable application fee of $100 must accompany this form.
Deadline for applications is 9/30/2006.
(Late applications will be accepted with an additional fee of $100.)
Please complete the application form below and return it to MTS Travel with the following materials:
  1. biography and photo of the choir
  2. biography and photo of the conductor
  3. recording of the choir within the last 12 months, with demonstrations/performances in 2 different styles of sacred music (studio or concert recordings permitted, as long as no editing has occurred)
Guidelines for application:
  1. Music Selection - Choirs will perform two pieces (varying style) of sacred music for adjudicators. Selections may be contemporary or classical, in any language. Total performance time for both pieces may not exceed 12 minutes.
  2. Accompaniment - a piano and/or organ may be used for accompanying choirs, or choirs may sing a cappella. No other instrumental accompaniment permitted. Choirs must provide accompanists at competition.
Successful applicants will be notified approximately six weeks after application is submitted. Accepted choirs will receive an information packet about the festival, including a contract outlining deadlines for name lists, ticketing, space utilization requirements and deposit of $50 per person, due within two weeks of receiving acceptance packet, to be applied to the total trip cost, which will include the following:
  1. Ground transportation from Munich to Oberammergau with purchase of air transportation through MTS Travel.
  2. accommodation in Oberammergau during the festival (5 days, 4 nights)
  3. tuition fees for adjudication during the festival
  4. breakfast and dinner daily during the festival
  5. Tour of Oberammergau Village, including Passion Play Theatre
  6. Choir participation in final concert on Saturday evening with Passion Play Choir, directed by Passion Play Choir Master
Group Air is available through MTS TRAVEL from your home city or from the nearest International gateway. Air fare and deposits for such are not included in the Festival costs. When air is purchased from MTS TRAVEL transfers from Munich Airport to Oberammergau will be included free. Quote for air fare will be provided upon receipt of the details of your group's requirements.

 I, the undersigned, understand that this application is an official request to participate in the Oberammergau 2007 International Choir Festival. I recognize that not all applicants will be accepted and that in any case, the application fee is nonrefundable. I agree to pay a deposit of $50 per choir member within two weeks of acceptance to the competition. MTS TRAVEL and its affiliates, including the Oberammergau city tourist board, may use the information provided above for promotional material related to the choir festival and other MTS Travel events. I understand that photographs and recordings will not be returned to my organization.
